Easter Sunday is very rich on traditions. It is the day where Jesus was resurrected after his death on
Good Friday.
The story goes that the friends of Jesus went to the cave where he was buried. Here they found that the stone covering the entrance to the cave was pushed away and Jesus was not in the cave anymore. This assured them that Jesus was alive again since he had left his grave.
People now believe that Jesus will give people who believe in him eternal life. To celebrate this promise about eternal life, most Christians go to church on Easter Sunday wearing their nicest clothes. The churches are decorated with nice flowers and candlelight.
